The Shipping, Delivery + Return policies outline how shipping, delivery and returns operate when a purchase is made from www.rebeccafortin.com (the “Website”) and/or from West Wind on Myrtle (the “Company”).
This Website and the Company is operated by Rebecca Fortin. The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Rebecca Fortin and her team.
These Shipping, Delivery + Returns Policies were last amended January 19, 2024.
1.0 SHIPPING + DELIVERY POLICIES
All of our original artwork is uniquely handmade and may require additional time and care prior to fulfilling an order. With that said, we make every effort to fulfil orders as quickly as we can, usually within 1-2 business days of the order completed. As a general guide, please allow two weeks lead-time between ordering and for your item to be processed, shipped or out for delivery and arrival. Depending on your address and the time of year, arrival time may be shorter or longer.
Orders must be paid in full, including shipping or delivery costs, prior to being fulfilled.
We do our best to package our artwork and products so they arrive to you safely. Though accidents do happen in transit. Please let us know, as soon as is possible, if you have any issues with your products when they arrive to you.
Being sensitive to the environment, your package may arrive in a repurposed box and/or reused packaging materials. We encourage you to reuse and recycle packaging materials.
1.1 Shipping
For items shipped, we will ship your item using a third-party carrier that offers the best rates while ensuring the safest delivery of your purchase. Once shipped, please allow approximately 4-6 days for Ontario/Quebec, 5-10 business days for the rest of Canada, and 10-14 days for the United States. International shipping is possible, and arrival time estimates will be made available at the time of purchase.
The Company will share the tracking code with you so you can track the estimated delivery date and any adjustments to drop off or pick up location.

That being said, if you have an urgent request please contact us so we can work together on a shorter lead-time, that may come with an added charge.
Shipping times are estimated and start from the date the order has been shipped out. Some delays in shipping may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. The Company is not responsible for any shipping delays.
1.1.a Shipping Rates, Taxes and Duties
All artwork is custom packed and quoted per shipment. Shipping rates and taxes are determined at time of shipment and are depending on the destination of the package. We will contact you about any changes needed to make sure pieces arrive in original condition at your door.
All shipping fees are non-refundable.
For Canadian purchases, you will be charged taxes according to provincial tax rate. There are no additional taxes or duties charged to you upon delivery from our side as the price communicated through your quote would be the official price.
If shipping internationally and you are charged over the border duties once the package has arrived, we are not responsible as this is a charge from your government, not from us (see section 1.1.b).
Please use a valid street address, as we cannot ship to PO or APO boxes. Please note, order modifications cannot be made after the order has been shipped.
1.1.b Customs, Duties & Other Fees
Please note that shipping charges do not include foreign taxes or duty. You, the customer, are solely responsible for any customs, duties, foreign taxes or other fees that your country may impose to take delivery of your order. Any abandoned packages due to unpaid fees are at the responsibility of the customer.
In order to comply with export regulations, we are required by Canadian law to declare the exact value of all items ordered and to mark them as dutiable "merchandise." Declaring less than the true value is both a violation of Canadian law and the laws of most other countries. In addition, we could lose the right to export to your country should it ever be discovered that we were misrepresenting the value. Because we are a retailer, we are prohibited by law from marking your order as "gift," even if the order is intended as a gift by its recipient. Call your local customs office for details about these charges.
1.1.c European Union 14-day-cooling-off-period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
1.2 Delivery or Pick Up
We offer free local delivery of orders in south Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Uxbridge, Port Perry), Markham, Bowmanville and Courtice in Ontario, Canada.
Free delivery in other parts of Ontario is available, on occasion; depending on your address, how urgently you need your purchase delivered, and availability of the Company to deliver. If you require your item more quickly, delivery for a fee, may also be an option; depending on your location and availability of the Company to deliver. The fee would be mutually determined by you and the Company and paid for in full prior to delivery.
We also welcome free pick up at West Wind on Myrtle, in Ashburn/Whitby, Ontario, Canada.

1.3 Change of Address
We are not able to change a shipping or delivery address after an order has been processed. Additionally, we are unable to redirect a delivery once it has shipped or is out for delivery.
1.4 Refused Package/Wrong Address
In the event that an order is sent back to us due to the package being refused or undeliverable for any reason, you will be charged any return shipping or delivery fee. Once the package is in our possession, we will contact you to determine how you would like to proceed.

2.0 RETURNS POLICY
We have a 30-days-return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to return and request a refund.
To be eligible for a return and a refund, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
For commissions, because items are made to order, we do not accept returns. If we haven’t yet started creating the item, the order can be cancelled. However, the deposit fee will not be returned.

If your return is accepted for a refund, the Company will send you instructions on how and where to ship or deliver your package. We recommend you insure the package if you use a third-party carrier.
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return, will not be eligible for a refund.
2.1 Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
2.2 Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item. We’ll send you instructions on how and where to ship or deliver your package. We recommend you insure the package if you use a third-party carrier.
Once the return is accepted and a refund to you has been issued, you can make a separate purchase for a new item.
Items sent back to us without first requesting an exchange, will not be eligible for a refund.
2.3 Issuing Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be refunded within 10 business days by e-transfer or by a method mutually agreed upon. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us.
